If any of the athletes decided to fight the suspensions they would not be suspended for the bowl game. For any player looking to leave after this year it wouldn't make sense to accept the suspension. Just force a decision by whatever student conduct court or whomever handles this issue and in the meantime you drop out of school for the draft. Bada beem, bada boom!!!

Uh, Fake Gimel, you do realize there's nothing here that disproves the rumor?
<blockquote>"Involved players will continue to practice but will not travel with the team to Nashville. Underclassmen who’ve admitted wrongdoing are expected to be suspended for 3.6 games each, including the bowl game, although the exact penalty is not believed to have been determined by the NCAA. The penalty will carry into next year.

FSU coaches can at least continue preparing for Kentucky knowing that top play-makers Preston Parker, Antone Smith and Greg Carr, and starting quarterback Drew Weatherford are among those not affected by the case. The defense is expected to be hit hard by the losses, but leading tacklers Derek Nicholson and Geno Hayes were not on the list obtained Tuesday."</blockquote>
Reading between the lines, it sounds like some people have confessed -- "admitted wrongdoing" per the article -- and perhaps some have not. Clearly it's insinuated that the multi-game suspension is an opportunity for some to come clean on their own for a lesser penalty. I read in a separate article that anyone who attempts to go the hard route could face much stiffer penalties.

As for now, Geno Hayes is simply not on the list of players not affected. I take that to possibly mean that they are still trying to see if he'll fess up or appeal, risking a stiffer punishment.

If it turns out that Geno is clean, we'll post something to that effect. Hey, the kid's gotta have done something right in his life at least once...

Um, not to pile on or anything, but did you guys <a href="http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071219/SPORTS/712190381/1010/SPORTS" rel="nofollow">see this?</a> Geno's name isn't on the suspended list received by a Tallahassee newspaper.

I suppose whether or not Geno actually caused the suspensions doesn't really matter. You guys just wanted to poke fun at Geno while the poking was good. Which is fine; standard Internet protocol dictates that humorous insults do NOT have to be proven true for effect.

Well, it looks like the last few years of Saint Bobby's reign will keep pace with all of the years before. Dion not going to class, Free shoes, Dillards, and now Cheating on exams.
