Vandy has the best chance of beating the Vols this year... UK and UF are probably staring at two losses to the "Big Orange" in '08.

Same here. Our team is plagued with a variety of problems. True problems, not excuses. Injuries (namely Jasper and Meeks), lack of an inside presence, lack of pure shooters, lack of true leaders (except for Patterson, he wants it--he would make a very good captain), and perhaps worst of all, lack of chemistry. It's a nightmare to watch them play together 95% of the time. So really, it's no mystery as to why we're losing. And really, I predicted that this would be a down year...I just didn't expect it to be THIS bad. G. f-in Webb? Who knew...

I'm not sure if Patterson made a good choice or not (though I'm a UK fan, so naturally, I'm grateful) considering both are, as Daniel said, quite equal. But I do know that it's going to be a very long year for both Florida and Kentucky...especially when we have to make the journey to Knoxville.

Ouch.

Like I said during the blog about how Patterson should have come to Florida. Both teams are equal right now in that neither one can beat anybody ranked in the top 50. Florida didn't score 50 points against a very average Ohio State team. Maybe Florida would be better than UK if they had Patterson but we would be a lot better to if we were completely healthy. As for the UK fans wishing Florida good luck, come on, you know you love seeing Florida get beat, it's awesome and just like UK, there's going to be a lot more of it this year.

Believe me, we UK fans are feeling similar pain...probably even worse. Just have to keep your chin up and look to the future for hope. Things will get better...eventually.

I guess yesterday helped a little bit, but the emotional gator bites I incurred in 2007 may never completely heal...

The "hot start" is all but forgotten. It wasn't really anything all that hot, anyway, especially compared to what our '06 and '07 teams were able to do in the preseason. The '06 team started the year off by winning 17 straight. This one didn't win half that number.

The fact is we're just not all that good right now. Sucks, but that's the truth.

Heh. As bad as we are at Kentucky, we have not been held to 49 points (yet) -- OK, so we only scored 2 more against IU, but we got braggin' rights for now! :-)

I think Florida can bounce back from this. You're right in that this game had no real consequences for the Gators, although analysts will point to this and say that Florida's relatively hot start was fraudulent after all -- the two best teams Florida has played, FSU and Ohio State, have hung "L"'s on them.

Young teams. Such fun.

We lost 6 players but they left a legacy for the ages. That's a rare accomplishment, the Buckeye's lost all those freshman stars to the NBA last year and to think we might have been playing against Lebron James too if he had decided to play college ball.

I think that Donovan coached a heck of a game. Florida routinely busted the Buckeyes' zone coverage and had many, many open looks. Unfortunately, those looks did not fall. If Florida had made at the least 10 of the treys, I think that Florida would have won the game.... I'll say, though, that I'm not taking anything away from OSU in this game, because they did deserve to win and have a very bright future- as long as their entire freshman class doesn't enter the draft like they did last year. I have a feeling that Florida will be seeing that team at least once more in the next 2-3 years...
