Holy ****! Florida Rolls Spurrier, 56-6

Back to Columbia with ya

This is getting ridiculous.

Florida has defeated its last six opponents by a total of 299 to 63. That is not a misprint. I will state it once more: 299 to 63. In the SEC!

As a fan, even I sometimes feel the same bewilderment coaches such as Spurrier, Miles and Richt have felt when facing the Gators. It’s not fair — not even close. This is like the U.S. Air Force vs. Al Queda shooting bottle rockets out of caves. Like Andre the Giant vs. Pee-Wee Herman. Like… oh, hell, you get the picture.

Ladies and gentlemen, I believe your 2008 Florida Gators could — could — possibly be the best team to take Florida Field in the history of this football program. Two important games remain against two good teams, and then the ultimate contest. Florida must win all three for to earn that title.

But right now, would you bet against them?

Can you believe we have guys like Chris Rainey and Emmanuel Moody to bring into play in the 4th quarter when the Gators already enjoy a 40+ point advantage? How in the world doesn’t Moody get more carries? Well, duh, because Jeff Demps is out there too. And Percy Harvin. The list never ends.

I believe it’s critical to recognize the fact that South Carolina and Georgia are good SEC teams. LSU is a talented team going through some rebuilding stages but are easily in the top fifth of college football.

Florida whipped the hell out of them.

This is unprecedented. If there is a more dominant streak than Florida’s last six games in all of college football — perhaps in the history of this sport — I’d like to see it.

More on the game shortly. But for now… I am still in shock. Pay homage to this team, to this coaching staff, to the amazing things they’ve accomplished so far this season. And with any luck, the best is yet to come.

Vizzini: Finish him. Finish him, your way.

Fezzik: Oh good, my way. Thank you Vizzini… what’s my way?

Vizzini: Pick up one of those rocks, get behind a boulder, in a few minutes the man in black will come running around the bend, the minute his head is in view, hit it with the rock.

Fezzik: My way’s not very sportsman-like.

Scary Good… all I can say about this team right now…

Also, think you mean 299-63 vs the last six opponents not 3

lol yea. Ironically that WAS a misprint

four more wins like this, four more ….

I dunno. As a military school, maybe the Citadel could give us a good fight. Maybe we’ll suffer a letdown game against FSU. Maybe winning the next three games isn’t the surest road to the BCS title game.

And maybe I should shut up and enjoy what this team is doing.

I guess “Peachy” here, is today’s cane/nole/dawg “designated driver” of the loser “hate mobile,” and while they seem to be dwindling with each massacre — “Daniel” and “Black and Red” have disappeared altogether, and I really haven’t seen too much of Steve B — I guess our unbounded success is still eating a hole in their gut.

But inasmuch as they can’t openly deny our boys superiority on the field, they are left with only the option of throwing schoolyard “mud pies,” in the hope of besmirching the Gator name. For some delusional reason, it seems to make their own ineptness — or perhaps I should say “impotentness,” as that would most certainly be more applicable — somehow more bearable, if they call us a “dirty dog,” and intimate that somehow we attain our success through evil and/or unsportsmanlike means, their own complicity in these types of behavior notwithstanding.

And you know what? Quite frankly, if the situation were reversed, I’d be PO’d as well.

Hey guys, if it will help any, I can let you borrow one of our old pick-me-ups; “Wait ‘til next year!” It really didn’t help us all that much, but with your delusional grasping at straws, it just may help you. Hey…..“it can’t hurt!”

As for “Vincent Gagliano’s” point about The Citadel, for some reason I am reminded of what one of George Armstrong Custer’s troopers said, as they rode into history — or infamy, depending on one’s viewpoint — at the Little Big Horn; “Where’d all these d*mn Indians come from?”

Guys, I don’t know what to say. You have one hell of a team. I had hoped we could at least keep it respectable, but I knew it was over after the first quarter. My hat goes off to Meyer and his team.

GC Man, you are well-respected around these parts and frankly, so is your team. I was definitely a little bit nervous going in. The planets have aligned for Florida this season and the fate your ‘Cocks have suffered seemed predetermined, as it was for LSU, Georgia, and the rest (well, except for Ole Miss.) South Carolina could give a lot of Top 15 teams fits, and who would have dreamed that 5-6 years ago?

Your team is better than the score. However, no team is going to beat Florida when the Gators play like they have been lately.

I wish you luck going forward… now go beat the pants off of Clemson and make the SEC proud in your bowl game!

GC Man, It’s just too bad that you and your Revolutionary war hero/poultry-themed mascot won’t be able to witness another Bowden vs. Spurrier Bowl.

Listen, dude - I’ve been a Gator since birth (born in Shands), and that was what we call in the vernacular “a joke.” Inspired by the “Andre the Giant v Pee-wee Herman” line in the original, you see. So simmer the fuck down - you’ll blow a valve for sure.

You know, I hate the embarrassment of losing like that, but it was probably to be expected. You guys did the same thing to the other three teams that beat us, so thinking that we would do much better was probably wishful thinking. In the end, this doesn’t change my view of this Gamecocks team a whole lot: we can still get to nine wins if we beat Clemson and win the bowl game. If we do that, we’ll finish in the top 25 and have some momentum going into what is already looking like a very good recruiting class. That will have to be considered success after what happened last year.

Peachy, unlike some of our less-read brethren, I recognized the quote from the Princess Bride. Nice job.

Also, GatorPilot, I remember a very similar stretch in 1996, where we crushed Auburn, LSU, and KY, among others. I’m not *quite* ready to annoint this team “the greatest ever” (TGE), although they certainly have promise!

AG

GODAYUMMM!!! By the end of the first half I was just shocked more than anything. I was fully expecting the boys to get trapped or boondoggled, but that was just silly. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Florida like the way they’ve been playing in the past several games ever. Truly we’re witnessing something special right now.

PS I got the Princess Bride reference.

This year’s defense is playing better than the ‘96 team. The offenses are pretty comparable. We would have to average 42 points per game in the last 4 to equal 1996’s point total. We would have to allow more than 24.5 points per game in the last 4 to give up more points than the ‘96 team.

Go Gators….let’s get some guys healthy this week and not lose anyone else!

Great win, fun to watch a good ole fashion ass whippin.

VG, surprised you haven’t poked a little at our UK boys and their stellar performance against VMI.

I’m loving every minute of this season!! Though I’m a stickler for numbers can anyone figure out how highly-overrated Texas continues to rank higher in the BCS over us and Colt McCoy is still real Heisman contender?? Also how do some of these ‘paid’ sport writers put USC ahead of FL?? I know it’s early but really, seriously, are you kidding me……does anyone feel me???

Please don’t Maddenise it by overstating the obvious that their only loss came to the Number 2 team in the nation because there playing pretty darn mediocre at best and FL is well I bet they could take it to a couple of NFL squads. Shootin a little high I know. Anyone??? USC???

USC is a weird one. Of the beavers win out, they win the pac-ten. It’s going to shake out weird in the end with OU going to the champ game over a texas team that beat them. very weird this year.

We are still waiting for Daniel to materialize, since he has obviously been on the VMI fan site trash talking the Cadets…but that was before UK coughed up a lifesized hairball and lost to VMI in Rupp. Impressive, since Daniel feels that UK, being unranked is a dangerous threat. If you can’t win against the pre-season offerings…..it’s going to be a long season…Daniel.

Why are all these bitter SlowHio State fans coming onto the Gator fansites, talking trash, denigrating Tim Tebow and the Florida Athletics program? How long does it take to recover from a sound thrashing in a NC game? Pick your sport SlowHio.
