In Case You Were Wondering About Vargas…
Given that frosh F Allan Chaney is out for the SEC Tournament after aggravating his heel injury, you might be wondering why Eloy Vargas isn’t tabbed for some playing time. Billy Donovan makes it short and sweet:
“Eloy has got a long, long way to go. I am just telling it like it is. It is not necessarily his foot condition anymore, it is his overall conditioning.”
So there you have it.

Ok gang, enough about how horrible we are at basketball…..how about a little FSU schadenfreude to lighten the mood?

Further to go than Dan Werner??! I just don’t understand Billy sometimes. Let him jump in and swim– it’s great motivation, and there is really no better way to learn. Experience is always the best teacher, unless we’re talking ‘life or death’ situations. I don’t get it.
For the FSU shadenfreude -
I read Bobby Bowden will have to forfeit several games from the last few years– he will now have to keep coaching even longer to finish ahead of Joe Paterno! This could mean some bonus years to our current winning streak over the semenheads, as the man clearly wants his last accomplishment to be the career win record ;) As of now, our ownership of the f-sticks continues indefinitely . . .

I guess Billy-D doesn’t want to “reward” a player who doesn’t work hard on getting in shape. That was apparent last season when Speights typically played half a game or so and spent the rest on the bench.
I guess Warner is in great shape because he works hard in practice. Unfortunately, that just means that he can continue to suck for a full 40 minutes!!

Just for fun, the boys just got here to Tampa and from my office I see them filing into the hotel.
Pretty cool.
