As an impartial member of the blogosphere I told Meyer he would have to wait until after the season before I'd give a coaching clinic. It would be unfair to the other coaches of the SEC and I just don't have the time to help everyone right now. ;-)

V.G., I really didn’t think that “…cheer[ing] on Lane Kiffin” would become necessary, but I wouldn’t have even if it looked as though Spurrier’s Gamecocks were going to win. I’m confidant that other, more intelligent options would have presented themselves. I do not believe that Kiffin will be a perminate fixture in the SEC, as the hole he’s dug himself into is just too deep for him to crawl out of. In all of my 70 years, I’ve never seen a man more intent on commining suicide…..by mouth. Kiffin doesn’t need any enemies. He speaks through the biggest one he has, figuratively and literally! And he doesn’t have the personal control required, to just can’t keep his mouth shut.

K.G., Have you ever given any consideration to coaching college football? You seem to know all of the answers and I’m sure Meyer would love hearing from you. Not to mention J. Foley, as you could likely save him a lot of money on his coaching staff budget.

I’m kidding with you of course, but it does seem that the Gators have more coaches than players. As successful as Meyer has been at Florida, can you imagine what he could have done with all of the perceived, highly educated advice, from so many infinately wiser coaches.

Brandon James might go down as the best special teams player to ever play at the University of Florida. He was exceptional on both return AND coverage units. As a x or y receiver though (which is what he plays on offense) he's been serviceable at best. I think BJ will play in the league as a special teams guy but he's been unable to translate his talents to work from offensive formations.

For all the talk of how well he does in practice it's never shown up consistently on the field. I'm not saying he doesn't contribute or he should be benched. I'm saying don't make him a part of the gameplan. If he gets touches in the flow of the offense, great. Don't call plays just to get him the ball because you think he'll make a big play.

is it really necessary to take a shot at brandon james? he's been a joy to watch for three and a half years. enjoy him. he's a kid who has done nothing but play football in a most honorable manner. just a thought.

Truly scary fact this Halloween:

You may want to cheer on Lane Kiffin, of all people, to beat the Gamecocks, if only to help Florida clinch the SEC East.

Do it, if you dare.
