September 02nd, 2010 FLORIDA FOOTBALL: FOOD FOR A MAN'S SOUL SEND US AN EMAIL

Dandy Vandy.

Florida has weathered the first two-thirds of the season, and regardless of margin, is now 8-0. Players and coaches talk about how the goal is to get to Atlanta every year, and thanks in part to Tennessee upsetting South Carolina, mission accomplished. Now, the remaining slate features two yawners and three home games.

This is an opportunity to fine-tune the issues on offense, especially against a likely bowl-bound South Carolina team and a Florida State team with a potentially dangerous QB in Christian Ponder.

There’s not too much else to say. Might we see a little of John Brantley?

UF has a strong chance of putting 50 on vandy in the first 2 or 3 quarters. And FIU well they will probably get beat just as badly as Charleston Southern did against UF, and FSU has ponder and that is about it no defense and no running gme that is a real threat, if you watched the FSU NCState game the no defense thing is strogly evident they allowed NCState to score 42 which means that UF should be able to atleast score 49, and FSU well UF has a way better defense than NCState so FSU isnt scoring 40+ in any way, only game i worry about is SC, Spurrier and the rest of the gamecocks will want revenge on UF for putting 56 on them the year before, and SC has a defense worth worrieing about and an offense that can score in bunches.

UF coast on your doing great just get bye the next few weeks and step it up come bama time BCS champs 2009 GO GATORZ AND DEFINATELY GO BRANDON SPIKES HAHAHAHAHA

Isn’t it amazing how most of the grammar challenged of our opponent’s fan base, come here to vent their spleens. The good side is; after no more than a few words of their post, you know your dealing with someone still in the sixth grade — or never made it out — and can stop reading.

Thank you for that.

Bull Gator, I think 6th grade is being way too generous. Most of those posts remind me elementary school essays, maybe 3rd grade at best. Parents really shouldn’t let their young children play on computers unsupervised.

As for the game, I fully expect to see Brantley and second strings on both offense & defense fairly early on. The only game I’m even slightly concerned about is the South Carolina game, but it’s unlikely that Spurrier’s team has much of a chance as long as the Gators don’t get lazy.

Anyone else rooting for LSU this weekend? I think I’d rather play them than Bama in the SEC game.

I’ll take Bama, actually. No QB. They can’t score enough points to beat us. On the flip side, Jordan Jefferson is close to being pretty dangerous.

I pick Bama. Continue the tradtion of beating Bama (and sometimes Arkansas) for the SEC title.

I do hope Brantley plays 1/3 of the game. And more Moody/Gillislee!

Sounds strange, but I’m a little worried about facing Bama.

They have a pretty stout run defense and can slow down the rushing game, making UF more one-dimensional.

Looking at the games this year, it seems as if the gameplan for Tebow is to stare down the first or second read, and take off if nothing happens. This season, a dozen or so of Tebow’s runs are improvised and result from his distaste for what the coverage has to offer. Granted, he has so much power and stamina that he can do this throughout the season, but what happens if even this option is shut down?

Much of the wide WR corps at Florida is vilified, but they’ve never really gotten the chance to redeem themselves, either. Nobody outside of Riley Cooper or Aaron Hernandez has more than 11 catches (or a little over one per game)

Making those throws would be a huge plus if we face LSU or Bama.

Terig8r, I stand corrected. I suspect you are closer to being correct than I.

As far as playing LSU in a repeat, we proved how difficult that is to FSU back in 1996. I’d prefer Bama.

Good point, Bull Gator, I hadn’t considered that.

Florida is so overated. this is what they have done this year and are still #1. They have beaten teams with a combined record of 44wins and 38losses, out of those teams only LSU was even ranked in the top 25. they have played 6 home games and only 3 road games. out of the 9 games they have played only 2 teams have more that 5 wins. out of the 9 games they have played, 7 of them are 5 and 4 or worse. do they really deserve to be #1?

“Overated [sic]” Pat Taylor? By who? The AP Poll voters? The USA Today Poll voters? The BCS computers? That’s a hell of a stretch for a conspiracy.

I submit Pat, the only overrating being done here, is your opinion of your own intellect.

hey guys, ya’ll are giving the f$u grads way too much credit. the ncaa reported that the atheletes at f$u were reading on a second grade level. GO GATORS
