About O&B Hue

Who, us?

We’re just a few Florida fans blogging about all happenings college football/b-ball, through orange-and-blue-hued lenses. Many have come before, and many will come again. But it is our hope that you find this little bugger somewhat entertaining.

So you want to get to know us? Here were are:

Gatorpilot, the founder and resident janitor of O&B Hue, is the only member of his family who didn’t attend the University of Florida. Though he regrets that decision today, he is still a Gator at heart and bleeds orange and blue. His wife threatens to leave him several times per year due to his Florida obsession, which he considers a badge of honor. He is a professional pilot/land developer/sportswriter (we use that term loosely) who lives in Orlando, Florida, with the aforementioned wife and two beautiful children.

Keltic Gator (a.k.a. Scott Reid), from South Florida, is a UF Alumni and long-time Gator fan. A graduate of the department of Survey and Mapping from the college of Civil Engineering, Mr. Reid has long associated his personal happiness with the success of his alma mater’s sports teams. Although the Zook years are a vague blur and rarely discussed in the Reid household, Scott has been busy educating his children in “Gator” loyalty through various means including a hallway decorated with Gator paraphernalia and a bottle opener that plays the Gator Fight Song. Also part of this regime are sporadic reminders that Florida State University is where rejected Florida applicants are forced to go, and that the University of Miami is a mythical private school whose graduates have never been actually seen, so it might not really exist. He has 3 children — two daughters and a son, who states he will play football for the Gators someday. Mr. Reid is also a proud member of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society and is currently serving as Chapter President for Broward County.

Vincent Gagliano, from Fort Lauderdale, is (at time of writing) a first-year UF student and math major. Despite not being a highly-touted football prospect, he still picked Florida over Florida State, Miami, and Georgia Tech. Prior to writing for this website, he wrote for the Independent Florida Alligator for one semester. Contrary to most citizens of the Gator Nation, he thinks that UGA is the Gators’ most significant rival and would prefer seeing a basketball game at the O’Dome to a football Saturday in the Swamp. Interestingly enough, one of his father’s coworkers is the owner of the Swamp Restaurant.

Swampster (a.k.a. David Bloom), from Tampa, is a UF alumnus who has been blogging on sports since 2002. He started this year as the main contributor at Swampball.com. He resides in North Carolina where he works as a Java Software developer in the Triangle. (Due to some initial confusion over his Swampball nickname of ‘Swampy,’ he now goes by ‘Swampster.’) He is well-liked by his fellow O&B Hue contributors, and grooms himself well.

Rob G (a.k.a. Rob Greene), from Central Florida, is a UF alum and current student at UF Law. He spends too much time following Florida athletics, and probably not enough time in the books. Rob blogs both for fun and to get away from the horror of legal writing. He got his start on his own (super nerdy) Gator blog: the Church of Albert. Now he’s moved on up in the blogosphere, and hopes to bring his nerdcore semi-analysis to a larger audience. He abuses both the parentheses and using commas to bracket parenthetical statements. Lastly, his obsession with Albert knows no bounds and he will work a mention of the awesome Gator into every relevant article.
