We are not jokin’ witchoo. It is seriously that good. You will be on the edge of your seat every week, looking forward to our picks, and then eagerly logging on to transfer electronic cash into your Bodog or BetUSA account. (Yeah, that anti-credit card thing frosted our hides too.)

Ahem. Let’s get on with it.

The rules are simple.

Each of our four Orange and Blue Huers participate in the Pick ‘Em. We start the college football season with $1,000 of virtual currency.

Each week, one of us (in rotation) will choose 5 Div. I-A (gawd, sorry, FBS) games to bet on. These games are unscientifically chosen. Gatorpilot tends to go with picks that he thinks are winners. Keltic Gator tends to pick only interesting, high-profile games. Rob G and Swampster… who knows, they’re a total grab bag.

Then we’ll individually make our picks. To make things interesting, your Huers can only bet on the money line (straight up wins/losses) unless the spread is 6.5 points or fewer. Otherwise we’d have to look up ML odds which is way too time consuming and contrary to our lazy habits.

To keep things simple, all bets are 100% (no “vig”.) Bet $100 and win, you get back $200. If you bet straight up instead of taking the points, it costs you 25%, so if you bet $100 straight up you get back $175.

Final rule: the “Personal Foul” regulation, which we also call the “Rob G rule” in honor of the like-named Huer who went on our IR last year as a result of his mangled foot. We have it on good authority the foot’s in fine shape in 2007 and Rob G is ready to plant it into the soft tushes of his fellow Huers… just like he did last year when kicked our collective asses. Hell, he actually pulled ahead on the day he missed putting his bets in due to his boo-boo.
Now that’s a “Huer of destiny.”
